Next: review the method

Sources and evidence

Classical texts provide coordinates. Real evidence decides how far a conclusion can go.

This is not a reading list used to manufacture authority, and a traditional method is not presented as an experimental result. Sanrui publishes the reference coordinates, modern tools and evidence states used in a review so each source has a clear responsibility.

This image illustrates the structure of the working file. It is not evidence of a client outcome.

Different responsibilities

Classical rules, modern tools and client facts do not impersonate one another.

A classical text does not prove that a present event must occur. A fishbone diagram does not validate a metaphysical method. One structures interpretation, one structures investigation, and both must return to dated, attributable facts.

01

Classical rule

States which palace, direction, flying star, image or strength relation supports the reading.

02

Modern tool

Frames the issue, possible causes, action and review without validating the classical system.

03

Observed fact

Supported by plans, photographs, accounts, contracts, dated events or client confirmation.

04

Working hypothesis

Anything not yet supported remains provisional and is not written as an achieved result.

Reference coordinates

The method structure is referenced. A sentence from an old text is not pasted onto a client problem.

Traditional editions, lineages and terminology vary. A formal report should state the rule and conditions used in the present case rather than rely on a book title as authority.

Xuan Kong

Shen Shi Xuan Kong Xue and related Xuan Kong material

Used as a traditional reference for facing, period, flying-star and active-opening relations. The report states the chart method, direction and activation time actually used.

Zi Wei

Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu public text

A reading coordinate for palaces, stars, transformations and timing. Uncertain birth time limits specificity rather than creating false precision.

Yi Ce

Zhou Yi public text

A classical coordinate for image, position, actors and change. The image raises a direction for inquiry; real constraints determine whether action is possible.

Modern analysis

ASQ quality tools

Fishbone, 8D and PDCA help organize possible causes, measures, ownership and feedback. 5W1H completes scope and basic facts.

How a source enters the report

A reference belongs inside the reasoning chain, not in a decorative bibliography.

A client does not need to study the system first, but should be able to see where a conclusion comes from, what it depends on and what could weaken it.

  1. 1

    State the term and rule

Name the palace, transformation, direction, flying star, image or strength relation being used.

  2. 2

    State the conditions

Lower confidence when direction, timing, actors, scope or chart conditions are incomplete.

  3. 3

    State the real-world match

Translate the term into people, place, events, resources, risk and constraints the client can examine.

  4. 4

    State action and disconfirmation

List reversible action, the observation window and facts that would weaken the interpretation.

Evidence register

A credible report leaves room for uncertainty on the page.

Known fact

The source and date can be stated and revisited.

Classical interpretation

Formed under the stated method, not presented as scientific causation.

Open hypothesis

Requires later photographs, data, events or professional review.

Review result

Records only what occurred and what the client permits to be published.

Continue the audit

After the source map, see how it enters a case and a written deliverable.

A long bibliography does not create trust. A clear correspondence between source, fact, action and boundary does.
